MSI Kombustor

What can you do with the MSI Kombustor software? The answer is simple: put your graphics card (GPU) to the test. Why would you want to do that? Right off the top of my head, I can think of a couple of reasons: see how powerful your graphics hardware is; burn-in your graphics hardware to weed-out inadequacies and/or failures. So if you just purchased a new graphics card for example, you can use MSI Kombustor to see how much it scores and to test for potential problems.

MSI Kombustor is available for 32- and 64-bit versions of Microsoft’s Windows operating system. Please note that MSI Kombustor 3.X, which is meant for 64-bit architectures, is the new active branch while MSI Kombustor 2.X, which is meant for 32-bit architectures, is in maintenance only mode.

MSI Kombustor can perform several types of tests: 3D tests, GPU burn-in tests, and KMark (PhysX) tests. All the tests that MSI Kombustor can run are conveniently presented on its interface, alongside some handy information about your graphics card: name and ID, memory size, driver, temperature, load, power.

MSI Kombustor provides access to GPU Shark, a simple GPU monitoring utility that my colleague Frederick Barton reviewed some time ago.

MSI Kombustor is free software that works with NVIDIA GeForce 6 or newer series graphics card with latest NVIDIA graphics drivers; AMD RADEON HD 2000 on newer series graphics card with latest AMD Catalyst drivers. It supports the latest DirectX versions as well as OpenGL.
